The Cure For Common Religion: When Reading the Good Book Goes Bad

Warning: This message would be offensive to my “religious connects.” Lol.
I remember when I would sit in church Sunday after Sunday, right after I get out of church and I would attempt to apply what I learned. I would read the Word of God as faithfully as I could. I would listen to different sermons and try to get wisdom. I would continue to read my bible but my conditions seemed to get worse. I was wanting and desiring more pornography as a Christian then when I wasn’t. The more church and bible I would take in, the more I would feel bound. I was getting smarter, but not better. The more I studied the more disconnected from God I became. The more callous and sinful it appeared I would be. It got to the point that I would ask myself the question is this the Life?
What if the way we read our bible is a symptom of a much bigger problem?
Jesus has much to say on the subject (John 5:39-40), check it out:
